A tech destroying Solar Flare could likely hit Earth in 100 years.

A tech wipeout by our Sun is potentially one of our greatest threats in the next 100 years.

If we had even a semi-massive event like that in 1856, it could shut down all our power grids, computers and even cooling systems for nuclear reactors. There is a few concepts to protect against these energetic bursts when they certainly will be coming. Although such protection could cost nearly $100 billion to put these shields in space.
