NASA - Kennedy Space Center Florida: A very interesting visit

The Kennedy Space Center

Are you fascinated about the exploration of space? Then you need to visit the NASA Kennedy Space Center in Florida, which is located in a National Park about an hour from Orlando. The Space Center offers visit to various museums, you get to interact with astronauts and aerospace engineers, as well as going on a bus tour to the actual rocket launching area. If you are lucky enough and you are around at the right time you might even get to see an actual launch; a very very unique experience that I would love to have!

The following photos were taken from the bus, while we were on the tour around the launching area of the Space Center. You get to be really close to the actual platform and the tour guide was excellent, giving us information of the whole procedure. He even mentioned that before a launch they use some specific systems to scare away the wildlife of the National Park, as the launch itself is enough to kill them.

The Museum - Engineering of a Rocket

The rocket itself splits in three parts, leaving only about a tenth of its size for the spacecraft that travels in the space. The biggest part contains the power engines to help the rocket travel through the stratosphere. These are some photos from the museum.

The actual Apollo!!!

This capsule below is the actual Apollo 14 spaceship; part of the moon missions of NASA. Apollo 14 was the 8th manned mission and the third to land on the Moon. It was a nine-day mission in January 1971, with Commander Alan Shepard, Command Module Pilot Stuart Roosa, and Lunar Module Pilot Edgar Mitchell.
