Fun facts about the Cosmos

1.) You can't burp in space.
Astronaut Chris Hadfield explains this from experience on the International Space Station

2.) Saturn would float
Even though Saturn is the 2nd largest planet in our solar system is it surprisingly light due to mainly being composed of gases like helium

3.) You won't instantly freeze to death in space without a suit on
The majority of movies have this all wrong. You won't instantly turn to ice and shatter to pieces when exposed to space...There's nothing there to freeze you! You will only get cold as fast as your body radiates heat due to no insulation.

4.) The color of the Sun is white
The Earth's atmosphere filters more of the bluer side of the spectrum making the sky appear blue and allows more of the
yellow and reds through to our eyes here on Earth.

5.) We are all composed of star dust
Although it may be difficult, we can technically trace every element of our composition back to the elements expelled from an exploding star.

6.) Space junk is the biggest threat to space exploration
We've been compiling space junk for over 50 years. With more and more companies launching satellites yearly..all too soon it will be too dangerous to attempt shuttle launches

I love learning about the universe. I get a lot of my facts from nasa.gov including the above image and by listening to speeches by Neil Degrasse Tyson, Lawrence Krauss, and others
