На этом снимке телескопа «Хаббл» запечатлена эмиссионная туманность N159. Она находится в Большом Магеллановом облаке на расстоянии 160 тысяч световых лет. Туманность является домом для ряда молодых звезд, излучение которых ионизирует окружающие их облака газа, заставляя их светиться. В центре туманности расположена облако, которое за свою форму было названо туманностью Бабочка. На самом деле это облако является газопылевым коконом, внутри которого формируются новые зародыши звезд.
In this image, the telescope "Hubble" is embodied emission nebula N159. It is located in the Large Magellanic Cloud at a distance of 160,000 light years. Nebula is home to a number of young stars whose radiation ionizes the surrounding gas clouds, causing them to glow. In the center of the nebula is a cloud that because of its shape was called Butterfly Nebula. In fact, it is a cloud of gas and dust cocoon within which the new buds are formed stars.
