New Worlds 2016 Symposium. SPACE!!!
Ever since Elon presented his Interplanetary Transport System formally known as the Mars Colonial Transport. I have been thinking that we should probably get together and start companies that can prepare for what we are going to need for THE trip and beyond. It's not like we can just pop in an RV and a tent and go to mars, we will need to rethink everything. Products that work for even the farthest areas of earth will not cut it for Mars. Humans are going to need a whole new industry that will essentially start from scratch. The first thing that comes to mind; we will need to up our recycle game 500%. The things we throw away in space should be next to nothing. Reuse, reuse and then reuse some more, and we are not just talking about your hydration bi-product. I digress; Cue the New Worlds Institute 2016 convention on November 4-5 in Austin TEXAS Y'all. This is a gathering of
world class scientists, experts and engineers will join some of the newest minds and future leaders to explain, discuss and debate the challenges and solutions facing those who will go out there.

The New Worlds Institute mission statement is:
To identify, catalyze and communicate those tipping point decisions and actions that cause the opening of the space frontier as quickly as possible.
To identify, catalyze, develop and support those ideas, people and projects that enable and accelerate the development of prosperous and free human communities and economies beyond the Earth.
A powerful declaration if I may add. Sounds like my kind of people.
This is the place to be for those who want to get ready for how humans will get to the next frontier(s). This little soiree is not just for space geeks to get a picture of a NASA astronaut, it is a gathering of investors and experts (who are space geeks) to help new businesses and ways to invest in out of this world businesses. I am a big advocate of following your passions and finding someone to pay you for it. This gathering will discuss plans and problems we will need to overcome when we leave earth's oh so sweet protection. One event I am glad to see is the Space Settlement Symposium or S3. The event will be a place for people to present their ideas for ways that can help humanity
survive and thrive on the frontier
Presenter will have 8 minutes to give a talk followed by a Q&A. Some cash will be awarded to the top 3 and more importantly a 30 min private chat with an expert to help with your plan.

I am super excited about space opening up to more than just the lucky few. This is the beginnings of what Carl Sagan promised
"the gates of the wonder world are opening in our time" "because there's a deep nomadic impulse built into us by the evolutionary process, we come after all, from hunter gatherers, and for 99.9% of our tenure on Earth we've been wanderers. And, the next place to wander to, is Mars."
