The rule of law must prevail if we are to conserve American institutions.

I oppose calling illegal immigration at the Southern border an "invasion" precisely because I am a legal conservative. Such a notion that illegal immigration consitutes an invasion, despite being invoked by the supposedly conservative party, is quite radical. It requires stretching the definitions of invasion and immigration beyond any reasonable limits. Such word games are more akin to the "words are violence" ideology of the radical Left than any conservative principles.

What's more, if their understanding and definition of "invasion" were to be successful, American law would fundamentally change. The federal government would be given a blank check to become a radical tyrant, deploying military force against any group it deems a threat. Indeed, we saw such a very threat attempted in Canada against truckers. They were deemed a threat to the government and treated as though they were criminals for nothing more than wanting to do their jobs.
