These Steemit design contests are great because I get to practice various techniques that I've never done before. So, I'm learning during the process of designing.

Here's my cover art contest entry for @soundlegion's Steemit Artist Music Compilation Volume 4 (Song submissions are still open!). What I had imagined for the design is completely different from the outcome, but I think it turned out decent. Below my entry, I've included my design process as well.

DESIGN PROCESS

For the cover artwork, I wanted to design a collage. Using Illustrator, I drew various silhouettes and shapes. First, some funky shapes.

Then, some nature elements.

Some extra miscellaneous patterns.

Here's the color scheme.

Then, I started layering the previously drawn elements.

After changing the black font to white, I used photoshop to create couple color variations of the design.

Then I thought, why not put everything together and make a cover in gif format...
