The Japanese Tech giant Sony disclose Multi-Application Contactless Cryptocurrency Hardware Wallet

Having said that, according to a press release, the research department of the Japanese tech giant, Sony made it known that it had created a contactless crypto hardware wallet.

Although the name of the device is yet to be known, it is understood that the device will make use of Integrated Circuit (IC) smart card technology that is widely used in Japan to communicate with Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies in the crypto network.

The benefits, as presented by the developers from Sony Computer Science Labs (SCSL) says it relies on the provision with the necessity to attach the crypto wallet to a host device using USB as it is the most used and incumbent acceptable standard for the industry.

The release also explains that “In addition, it is possible to securely generate and store a private key with a highly reliable tamper-proof module within the IC card,”

The Japanese giant has collaborated with many multinationals in testing with Blockchain technology in recent years, releasing many proposed solutions and applying for patents related to blockchain technology.

The company says that the latest crypto hardware wallet functions beyond just sending and receiving cryptocurrency, but designed to have multi-purpose uses.

The release also states that

“This IC card-type cryptocurrency hardware wallet technology not only manages the private keys used for cryptocurrency transactions but also manages private keys used for other purposes, such as those for permitting the use of personal information using blockchain technology,”

There’s no clear information when a mass rollout of the product will be scheduled.
