Danish composer Aksel Andersen (1912–1977) was born in the USA (Ruskin, Nebraska) and educated in Denmark primarily with Svend-Ove Møller and Thorvald Aargard. He graduated from the Royal Danish Music Conservatory in 1931. Andersen held numerous organist and teaching positions throughout Denmark and was one of the founders of the organ concert series at Løgumkloster Church.
