Song Challenge Day 20 - A Song That Has Many Meanings to You

mewithoutYou - Timothy Hay

I'm not sure how I feel about doing two mewithoutYou songs in a row. It seems like an amateur move.

Oh wait, I forgot that it's ok because mewithoutYou is awesome. There's a lot of room for interpretation in this song. Here's what I know about some of the phrases in this song:

1. Timothy hay is a staple food of domesticated rabbits, and other small mammals.

2. Timothy Hay was a pen name used by children's author Margaret Wise Brown.

3. Verse 2 is referring to an incident where the lead singer and a Catholic nun were arrested at an anti-war protest.

I'm not sure how these things either do or do not relate to the song. In general, with mewithoutYou's lyrics, I find it most fruitful to look at it more as a general thematic broad brush, rather than dissecting each line individually.

With that being said, to me this song is about not just accepting the unsatisying aspects of life and society. But this can be broadly interpreted by each individual to apply to whatever it is that you find lacking in the world.

You can and should expect better from your government, from yourself, from your partner, from your blockchain; whatever applies to you.
