Icy Gale

Atop the tallest peak on the isle of "Covelite" mountaineers will often site him. A lantern sways with his stride, which a keen eye can trace along the ridges of Mt. Triloka; eventually disappearing at the end of eastern ridge. A fortnight will usually pass until the flicker of his lantern is seen once more. Again, swaying back and forth and ascending and descending the distance between the eastern ridge and Mt. Triloka's "Solitiude Peak." A few adventurous souls have dared to discover the lantern holders identity, but all return with the same tale of the lanterns light suddenly being blown out when approached and the holder evading detection. Some townspeople think he may be the husband of the once beautiful Eveline Grace; perpetually looking for his wife's torn and shattered remains after her rumored murder by marauding pirates a few winters ago. Others believe him to be the last remnant of an archaic people forgotten to time. And still others figure him to be one of the soldiers from the "Old War", whose mind seeks shelter from memories of fallen brothers amongst the rocky tracts of Mt. Triloka. Whoever he may be, the only sign which still lingers of his existnece is the lantern softly swaying and lighting his way.
