The other day, working close to the Sun

in #solarenergy7 years ago

It was a clear morning and it was almost sure it wasn't going to rain. It was a perfect day for going near the skies (going to the rooftop of a building) and working happily.

As my colleagues and I were glad and excited working, we were a bit worried if the Sun was going to come say hello to us. We were worried because the rooftops were going to be heated up, the solar panels were going to be hot and we were going to be dehydrated and the Sun indeed came in its full strength. Nonetheless, we worked happily.

Alternative energy such as Solar energy are being employed to tackle inadequate supply of electricity in Nigeria but it is still commonly used among the wealthy ones. Solar panels themselves have reduced in cost over the years, but the deep cycle batteries for storing the energy from the Solar panels have remained costly and also inefficient as they are mostly of low quality. The high quality batteries are even more expensive. These make the acceptance of this energy solution slow in Nigeria.

How I wish our situation could change so fast to the like of Germany where installing solar systems is cheap and for generating more than enough electricity the owner is paid. But until then, I would keep promoting Solar energy and other forms of renewable energy.

Thank you for taking time to read.
