EIA University in Colombia joins the SolarCoin Affiliate Network
The EIA University (Colombia), announced today its new partnership with the SolarCoin Foundation. EIA University enters the SolarCoin ecosystem as an official affiliate to provide solar asset owners with the support they need to understand and adopt the SolarCoin Initiative.
SolarCoin is a blockchain digital asset that works like air miles for solar electricity generation. SolarCoin offers a new incentive for solar power generation on a global scale, independently and additionally to existing government subsidies. Each SolarCoin in circulation represents 1 MWh of solar electricity generation. SolarCoins are claimed by individuals living in homes with solar panels or commercial and utility-scale solar PV producers.
“Blockchain and SolarCoin are the key tools for accelerating the energy transition in Colombia”, said Santiago Ortega, director for the University’s energy strategy.
As a new SolarCoin affiliate, Universidad EIA will provide onboarding and wallet management services to Solar Power Producers, enabling them to earn SolarCoins and add a new revenue stream to their business at no additional cost. Universidad EIA will create and secure digital wallets, help gather the required claim documentation, manage the on-boarding process with the SolarCoin Foundation, and ensure that claimants receive their SolarCoin rewards.
SolarCoin: Incentivising solar PV energy production through blockchain innovation
SolarCoins are granted at the rate of §1SLR for each MWh of validated solar energy produced and provide for a shorter payback period and higher return on investment for the solar installation. The SolarCoin Foundation manages the distribution of SolarCoins using verified solar facilities as the “proof of work”. The SolarCoin Foundation also maintains a public ledger detailing each SolarCoin given out to solar electricity generators.
SolarCoin is an open community project run by volunteers interested in creating an incentive to benefit the environment, and working together as the SolarCoin Foundation. In working closely with the solar industry, the SolarCoin Foundation, with SolarCoin, is at the base of a virtuous circle, creating an uptake for solar equipment.

La Universidad EIA (Colombia), anunció hoy su asociación con la Fundación SolarCoin. La universidad ingresa al ecosistema SolarCoin como afiliado oficial para proporcionar a los propietarios de activos solares el apoyo que necesitan para comprender y adoptar la Iniciativa SolarCoin.
SolarCoin es un activo digital blockchain que funciona como millas aéreas para la generación de electricidad solar. SolarCoin ofrece un nuevo incentivo para la generación de energía solar a escala global, de forma independiente y adicional a los subsidios o incentivos existentes. Cada SolarCoin en circulación representa 1 MWh de generación de electricidad solar fotovoltaica. Los SolarCoins son reclamados por individuos que viven en hogares con paneles solares o que son productores de energía solar fotovoltaica a escala comercial o residencial.

Como nuevo afiliado de SolarCoin, la Universidad EIA proporcionará servicios de gestión de billetera digitales e incorporación a los productores de energía solar, lo que les permitirá ganar SolarCoins y agregar una nueva fuente de ingresos a sus negocios sin costo adicional. La Universidad EIA creará y asegurará carteras digitales, ayudará a reunir la documentación requerida, gestionará el proceso de incorporación con la Fundación SolarCoin y asegurará que los reclamantes reciban sus recompensas de SolarCoin.
SolarCoin: incentivando la producción de energía solar fotovoltaica a través de la innovación blockchain
Un SolarCoins se otorga por cada MWh de energía solar validada producida y proporcionan un período de amortización más corto y un mayor retorno de la inversión para una instalación solar. La Fundación SolarCoin gestiona la distribución de SolarCoins utilizando instalaciones solares verificadas como "prueba de trabajo". La Fundación SolarCoin también mantiene un libro de contabilidad público que detalla cada SolarCoin entregado a los generadores de electricidad solar.
SolarCoin es un proyecto comunitario abierto dirigido por voluntarios interesados en crear un incentivo para beneficiar al medio ambiente y trabajar juntos como Fundación SolarCoin. Al trabajar en estrecha colaboración con la industria solar, la Fundación SolarCoin, con SolarCoin, se encuentra en la base de un círculo virtuoso, fomentando la adopción de plantas solares fotovoltaicas.
