Upcoming Solar Eclipses 2018!!!
A partial solar eclipse will take place on July 13.
--> It will be visible primarily over the ocean between Austraila and Antartica.
--> This partial eclipse will take place almost entirely over open water. Because the eclipse will arrive during the Southern Hemisphere's winter.
--> Most of Antartica will be experiencing polar nights. During these periods, the sun does not rise for weeks or months.
--> Skywatchers might catch brief views of the eclipse. On the very southern coasts of Australia and Newzealand.
Another partial solar eclipse will take place on Aug 11.
--> It will touch many countries in the Northern Hemisphere.
--> It will be visible from northern Europe, northern and eastern Asia. The eclipse will start out over the North Atlantic ocean and Greenland.
--> It'll then move to Iceland, Northern Europe and the northern polar regions. Finally dipping down into Mongolia, China and Surrounding areas.
--> The solar eclipse phenomena is possible for one astonishing coincidence. The Sun and Moon appear to be the same size. Because the moon is 400 times smaller but 400 times closer.
--> On average, any calendar year has 2 to 4 eclipses each year.
--> Humans have treated solar eclipses as a noble cosmic event only recently. In ancient times, however, a violent and sudden darkening of the sun was a cause of alarm, panic and fever which resulted in irrational behaviour.
--> Ancients texts from China and Greece that mention solar eclipses. All suggest the phenomena was viewed as trouble. They represented a serious disturbance in the natural order of things.
--> The word Eclipse comes from the Ancient Greek word Ekleipsis for "abandonment". Since the Greeks viewed the eclipse as the sun abandoning the earth.
