Review The movie 'Sokola Rimba'

This time, I will review a short story from the movie Sokola Rimba.

Sokola Rimba tells about the struggle of Butet Manurung as a teacher for the jungle.

The story begins when Butet is about to leave teaching and then suddenly exposed to malarial fever in the middle butan and saved by a child of the jungle. The child is named Nyungsang Bungo from the Lower Makekal River. Secretly Bungo often peep Butet activity while teaching the people of the jungle.

Nyungsang Bungo always carries rolls of agreement letter of agreement of exploitation of their customary land which has been stamped by Tumenggung as head of adat. Bungo is eager to learn to read in order to know what the letter of the treaty is.

Bungo who originally caught by the jungle of one of Butet's students was shy and afraid to take part in learning was quite smart and tenacious in learning. This makes Butet want to expand his work area downstream, to other jungle associations of the tribe in which Bungo originated.

Initially after a long wait until staying one night on the edge of the settlement group Bungo, Butet finally allowed by Tumenggung as head of adat to teach there. However, it did not last long, the beliefs or customs of the Tribe Anak Dalam who were against foreign things from outside believed that Pencil's pencils, books, and activities would bring disaster to them.

The peak when Tumenggung died and Bungo was forcibly picked up by members of his group who believe the departure of Tumenggung due to the arrival and activities of Butet. Make Bungo must stop learning and return to his group to perform their customs that move when one member dies.

When Butet reunites with Nyungsang Bungo and his group are heartwarming events when Butet and his fellow teachers see Bungo as his group's spokesman when there are outsiders (ordinary people) who want to ask permission to exploit their customary forest.

Bungo who was then able to read to confuse the people who want to seek approval of the adat chairman because Bungo can read and understand the contents of the letter of agreement they offer. There, Bungo rejected the points in the treaty that were deemed incompatible with their customary rules.
