hello Danny, well steemit follows the pro-money consensus, just like 98% of society. It is a huge challenge but the world debt situation is appalling and we should throw in the towel. 5000 years of much of the same is enough as an experiment. Cryptocurrencies aren't much safer either because quantum computing will be able to crack any encryption in 5-10 years or so. Knowledge makes problems/solutions progress exponentially, so insecurity will not go away. If you see what I mean :)
Hopefully starting next year, the movement will get donations for online advertising only, Even if it takes a generation, the idea/premise must be out there.... to allow the freedom of choice.
Thanks for your interest... ooops there already are 2 or 3 orgs advocating for it. Go to my site, you will find them. Earth Custodians stand out because of its science based metaphysics. The organization Ubuntu has too a similar metaphysics attached but it is not its central piece.
