Don't Spam Your Facebook Business Page.

It's not all about Selling!

So often I see companies constantly pushing their goods and/or services via their Facebook Business Pages. Yes, of course it is great to promote, but if you constantly 'SELL SELL SELL' your fans will become disinterested and this may lead them to ignoring or blocking notifications and unliking your page!

There are also other ramifications to this on a deeper social and SEO level, where if more than 25% (1 in 4) of your posts contain an outgoing link, it will have an impact on searches within Facebook's search algorithm, which could lead to missed opportunities.

So, how do you manage your Facebook Business Page?

I think the important thing is to remember that your fans are interested in 'interesting things'. Creating engaging posts that include asking their opinion is a great way of giving your fan a feeling of worth, whilst building up a trust factor with them. If possible include interesting news on your business or the sector you are operating in. Use colourful photos and infograms to also trigger engagement.
Overall, try and be as diverse as possible on your posting, what some people like, others won't, so by having a wide spectrum of posts ensure that overall you offer appeal to everyone.
And yes, throw in your sales messages here and there, after all you do want to make money, and you will find that when it comes to posting sales messages, less is more.
