Self Promotion Works

If you do not have an advertising budget on social media, growing your fans can be painfully slow. And without fans to your Facebook business page, it is difficult to make any sales. Below are a couple of tips how by putting in some effort and time, you can grow your fanbase much quicker.

Create a Group.

If you create a group based around your business or what your company offers, this can be a great way of people finding out more information, keep the group lively by regular posts and invite others to like it, with a group, other people can share their ideas and tips and you can link your Facebook page with your group and promote through it.
If you are a local business, joining local groups and then posting your Facebook page on them (With the admin's permission.) is another great way of getting people to like your page. This will also work with groups that are interested in the business sector you are in. Just be careful to make sure you have permissions to post first, otherwise, you can get banned for spamming.

Share on Social Media.

Sharing your page on your own timeline, with friends and throughout any other social media avenues you have such as Linkedin, Twitter, Instagram etc is another useful way of raising awareness of your page. If you have friends with high volumes of followers on Twitter, ask them if they will tweet out your page to their followers, the more people see it the better.

Have your Social Links on your Website and Stationary

Make sure that people who visit your website can easily follow you for news and updates, have your social media icons clearly visible. (Don't hide them at the bottom of the page.) and encourage visitors to follow you on social media with a strong call to action. Also have the links in your emails, on any stationary including packing slips,(if you ship products.) The more ways you can get your Facebook Page out there the better. It is all about reaching out to people and locking them in as followers.

Where I see most businesses fail with their Facebook page, is they try an advertise to an empty room. The secret is to build your network of people BEFORE promoting. I am not saying stop posting your products and services but concentrate more on getting the numbers of fans up first.
