Facebook and Whatsapp used to be taxed in Uganda
Compala Uganda's parliament has approved the bill to pay half-dollar tax daily basis on the use of consumer social media application integration.The country's president says this amount of tax will be used to make the country's fast-growing Internet network more active. The President also said that the trend of wasting time and money will decrease from this tax.
Tax critics say that this tax will also be entitled to freedom of expression of the country's residents, and those consumers who use such applications for educational and constructive purposes will be affected by this tax.This new tax pass in Uganda will be applicable from 1st July, whereas the Uganda people are getting serious concern for this new tax.
