Peer into the Window of Social Engineering and How Your Thoughts and Ideas May Not Be Your Own

How much of your own thoughts of yours? When you went and bought that new iphone you didn't need - how much of the decision was it yours? Or was it a decision being dictated through media mind control brought on by technocratic dictators?
Technology is especially showing how easy it is to herd people into doing things or becoming something they would not have if it weren't for these things being in our society.
I've been studying social engineering for many years. When I went to school for Graphic Design many years ago we were quickly indoctrinated into the fact that our jobs was going to be in "Propaganda", but with the twist of words now calling it "Public Relations" and "Advertising".
The Century of Self
I keep going back to a documentary that Adam Curtis of the BBC released back in 2002. Even though I don't trust anything coming from the BBC this documentary still gives a pretty good analyse on the subject.
The Century of the Self is a 2002 British television documentary series by filmmaker Adam Curtis. It focuses on the work of psychoanalysts Sigmund Freud and Anna Freud, and PR consultant Edward Bernays.[1] In episode one, Curtis says, "This series is about how those in power have used Freud's theories to try and control the dangerous crowd in an age of mass democracy." I'm curious if the first image is tolerance is strength. Or intolerance is strength.
Ignorance
Pretty interesting when you think about it.. And a bit scary
