Top Cocktails

Aside from making music I'm actually a barman in Ireland and I'll be listing and describing some of my favorite cocktails,what goes into them and how to put them together.
The great thing about cocktails is there's one for everyone and the cocktail community encourages people to put their own spin on classics.

WHISKEY SOUR
We will start with one of the best cocktails of all time due to its simplicity and easy drinking.
How easy could it be you say?Well 3 ingredients,that's how easy.
*Whisky [I like Bourbon] 70ml
*Lemon juice [fresh squeezed] 25ml
*Simple Syrup [equal parts sugar dissolved in water] 25ml
Now granted these are the measurements I like other people will use different amounts,so play around with it and see what works for you.
Just put your ingredients in a shaker with ice, shake it all about and strain.

CAIPIRINHA
Next up the national cocktail of Brazil, yet again very simple but very effective.Popularity increased massively during the Rio hosting of the Olympics and many fell in love with the sugarcane based cocktail.
*Cachaça [sugarcane based rum] 70ml
*Half a lime [Slice into wedges and throw into the bottom of the glass]
*Teaspoon of sugar [Sprinkled on the limes and muddle sugar into lime]
Serve on ice and if the drink is a little strong for your liking use soda to take the sting out of it if you like.

TOM COLLINS
A Gin classic adored by any that cross its path,three S's that will ensure a successful cocktail, Smooth,Strong and Simple
*Gin [A dry gin is my preference] 70ml
*Lemon Juice 25ml
*Simple Syrup 25ml [Combine and shake above ingredients together]
*Club Soda [Top up to taste]
*Garnish with a lemon and a cherry if your feeling wild.
So simple yet very tasty, you must try this Gin giant.

OLD FASHIONED
Last but certainly not least arguably one of the greatest cocktails ever made.This cocktail embodies sophistication and elegance.After a hard day at the office combine these few ingredients and melt away into this ice cold glass of perfection.
*Bourbon 70ml
*Angostura bitters [couple dashes]
*Sugar Cube [Muddle til dissolved]
*Water [Just a couple dashes]
To put this together start with the sugar cube and splash the bitters over it.Add a drop of water and muddle,now place one large piece of ice in glass with your ingredients.Now most importantly pour in bourbon over the ice and let the party begin.Give your drink a stir and garnish with a orange peel and a cherry.
