How click/rage bait posts became all the rage.
No, Shogun S2 has not started filming. It just got renewed, and I doubt any of S2 has even been written yet. Which is why...
No, this isn't a "leaked image of new characters on set".
This image, like 90% of my feed on social media, is just click/ragebait.
In this specific case, I assume that it's explicitly racially divisive bait designed to capitalize on the unrelated discussion happening with the new Assassin's Creed set in Feudal Japan choosing to include Yasuke (a black servant and retainer to Oda Nobunaga) instead of actual Samurai who were Japanese.
What I find sadly hilarious about the whole thing is that in 2016, we were all told that "Russian interference" mostly via posts just like this one cost Hillary Clinton the election and meta supposedly took that very seriously.
All the executives and concerned "experts" on social media were convinced that Russia helped Trump rig the election (we'll have to just gloss over the fact that Hillary was in full election-denial mode for Trump's entire first term before the Democrats all suddenly decided that election results were utterly beyond reproach in 2020 and anyone who questioned them at all was an evil insurrectionist), and they theoretically went about putting all sorts of policies in place to diminish "fake news".
Now... The net effect of that was actually to crush real pages run by real people staff didn't like or whose ideas they didn't agree with, and it laid the groundwork for mass censorship during Covid.
