Anyone For Teqball?

So I was just catching up on the latest sports news when I came across a story on the BBC website that had an article on Teqball. Apparently Chelsea are into it big time and there is a clip of them playing it.

So it looks fairly interesting game, the picture in the title post is from a company that supply the tables and the one shown retails for $1300. Personally it looks like a warped table tennis table so perhaps if you have one of those and its been out in the rain you could perhaps find new lease of life for it.

The only technology that seems to be applied in the design is the curvature of the table, no doubt there are some technical requirements as to what that curve should be and the table does look futuristic looking I must say. Is it worth $1300 though? not so sure.

Apparently this sport has been around since 2014 but this is the first time I have heard of it and the name Teqball doesn't immediately conquer up a fusion of Football and Table Tennis in my mind but when I thought about it I didn't think Tennball worked either.

The reason for this article coming out is that the 2nd Teqball World Cup is on in France from October 12 to 13th. For some strange reason it is actually called the Fiteq World Cup so perhaps that includes other events as well.

This article got me thinking and I wonder how many other sports people are thinking of combining to create a new sport, I know we have had Chess Boxing for instance. Also not far from me is a place where you can play Foot Golf. Can you think of any other sports that would work well together?

A little bit of research before posting is that FITEQ is the Federation Internationale de Teqball. There seems to be a lot of past players who are behind the movement, including Nuno Gomes, William Gallas and Robert Pires amongst others.
