Barcelona decided Philippe Coutinho to become the new owner of the number 10 jersey left by Lionel Messi who left for Paris Saint-Germain. Coutinho's number 14 jersey was given to Albanian striker Rey Manaj.

Currently, Barcelona are waiting for an answer from Coutinho whether he is willing to wear the number 10 jersey or not.

Barcelona have no plans to rest the number 10 jersey. However, they hope that Coutinho will accept this offer.

By wearing the number 10 jersey, Coutinho is expected to become a key player for Barcelona after several seasons of less convincing.

Currently Coutinho is trying to recover from a long injury and is expected to soon be grazing again with the Blaugrana.
