Liverpool Suffer First Defeat At The Hands Of Manchester City

Manchester City gave an almost unstoppable Liverpool side their first defeat of the season, after a thrilling match saw the champions beat the greatest threat to them retaining their Premier League title this season.
Manchester City started the game with a lot of intensity, showing some serious attacking in the early minutes of the game. The game already looking to be a tough test for Liverpool.
City get an extremely close shave near the midway point of the first half, after an attack from Liverpool saw Stones clearing the ball just before it crosses the line. Goal line technology showing that Liverpool were 11mm away from scoring against City.
City respond well to the previous scare and grab the first goal of the game in the 40th minute. Aguero blasting an unstoppable shot past Alisson to give City the lead.
Liverpool are unable to find a response to City's goal in the first half and they go into the break with a 1 go deficit.
Manchester City dominate at the start of the second half, while Liverpool struggled to pose a threat on the ball.
After a substitution, Liverpool start finding some rhythm and level the game in the 64th minute. Firmino meeting a cross from Andrew Robertson and finishing it off from close range.
City looking a little shocked after Liverpool's goal, manage to shake it off and reclaim their lead 8 minutes later. Sane receiving the ball from Sterling and without wasting anytime, he drills a low ball past Alisson, off the post and into the net.
Liverpool mount the pressure on City in the closing minutes, but their opponents hold strong and they manage to keep their 1 goal lead till the final whistle is blown.
The loss gives Liverpool their first defeat after 21 games, with their lead over Manchester City being narrowed down to 4 points now.
The victory should help Man City in regaining their confidence as they continue their Premier League run in hope of retaining their title as League Champions. Spurs are also still in it as they sit 2 points behind City and 6 points behind Liverpool, continuously posing a threat to both sides.
