Girona And Athlético Madrid Draw

Antoine Griezmann scored for the fourth game in row, as Girona grabbed a 1-1 draw against Athlético Madrid in their first leg match of the Copa del Rey round of 16.
It was a wildly entertaining game with Athlético Madrid showing more dominance of the ball.
It wasn't long before Athlético were in the lead, as Antoine Griezmann put his side ahead after 9 minutes of play. Griezmann's shot bouncing off the crossbar but it rebounded off the keeper and managed to find its way into the net.
It was a pretty windy day and it no doubt affected the overall play of football in some way. It was especially harder for goal keepers. After the match, Antonio Adan saying the wind made it more difficult to deal with the ball.
Girona were able to grab to grab a goal before the half time break by the 34th minute, putting things level. Anthony Lozano seeing his shot go straight through the hands of the keeper and into the back of the net, to put Girona 1-1.
Athlético Madrid showed more drive in the second half but were just unlucky to not reclaim their lead. Having chances from Correa, Nikola Kalinic and Vitolo not go in the net was a real shame. A lot of people would feel Athlético should have been in front by the final whistle.
Both sides will face again for the second leg on Wednesday.
