First of all i want to know one thing that before whatever skiing competition conducted before is not conducted on natural snow?, because i personally never known about Artificial snow, but whatever it is i want to say that first we have to take safety measures so that we can avoid any unwanted circumstances. Wikipedia has an extensive article on snowmaking. Of course it's a relatively new thing, while the first patent was made in the early 50s, it has gotten more widespread only during the last few decades. Of course skiing competitions have much longer traditions than artificial snow making. Hence the claim that a skiing competition "wouldn't work out" without artificial snow, in an otherwise perfect skiing season, is of course not true.
