Well , today I decided to share some of the more recent portraits of women who played the role of muse for these artists. Eventhough I'm not in to philosophical supernatural art. There are few exceptions and Rene Magritte is one of them.

The Great War / Rene Magritte

Created after the 1964 original oil on canvas La grande guerre (The Great War) by René Magritte (1898-1967) . As I said I'm not much in to search meaning in these portraits but Why did Rene Magritte created a war women and hide her identitity with flowers ?

Black magic / Rene Magritte

Another impressionestic style painting from Rene and this nude portrait is considered as his best nude work. As you can see her upper torso is got same color with the sky Who knows what is thea meaning of this good part of impressionist works is everyone can get their own meaning from art.

Freedom of Mind / Rene Magritte

This is another nude portrait painted by him in his more mature eras. I can't understand the surrealist elements in this painting however I just wanted to add this one to show his latest works.

As you can clearly see Magritte was a man quite interested in the meanings and interactions between visual signs and he used this technique in his surrealism influenced artworks. I find it quite hard to make rational deductions from his artwork however if it gives me pleasure and make me think about the topic he tries to explain I think it makes a surrealist portrait succesfull.
