Steem Cartoon : Why Sketching is for You!

This Tuesday we had officially launched a community known as urban sketchers an initiative that comes under the umbrella of steem-cartoon. Led by the enigmatic @kymio, an architect by profession and an artist in every right, he is an addict to urban sketching. He has travelled the world and his favourite subject in sketching is nothing other than architectural design. That is why the community is called urban sketchers. However, sketching is not limited to merely buildings but it can be any subject that the individual holding the pen or pencil wishes to reduce to paper.
There is no better way to see the world than seeing it through your own eyes. The colours, the interpretation, the mood and the atmosphere. One subject can have a few interpretation and the camera is not vibrant enough to capture the entire spirit of the moment. According to @kymio a person's appreciation for beauty and art is not limited by the sight but it also involves the heart and the mind. Seeing the world through another person's heart has its untold beauty and splendour that cannot be captured by modern technology.
It is because of the beauty in human art, sketching is a fast way to reduce the role of photographs in life and make it even more personal and interpretive in nature.
Why Sketching
There is no better way to know the world around you than to appreciate the beauty, to examine it and interpret it. It does not matter if you are into cats, trees, buildings, bridges or woman. The subject can be anything or everything under the sun and the moon. That is why sketching is vibrant enough for anyone.
Sketching is also a way to communicate with others. In many countries, sketchers are common particularly in places of interest. There is no better place to share common interest in sketching apart from having a common topic in the same subject of interest.

Sketching is more than just a normal pastime or hobby, it can be expanded to the education and research. The attention to details is more extensive to a sketcher than a person who merely control the composition through a camera lens. Unlike some hobbies, sketching is therapeutic because it requires emotional calmness and composure.
There will be urban sketching activities that will be announced from time to time, to feed the hungry urban sketchers that has to uncover their talent.

do you want to join us? It is done by @kymio a PhD student in architecture...I will be joining his events soon. I am always quite excited and I sleep little.
lol I'm a bit older and need my sleep, especially since I try to lift weights every day (causing my muscle tissue to need time to regenerate)... :)
Sometimes I have to do overtime also... and then I try to work on my own painting projects, and my graphic novel, in my spare time.... Oh and of course my Steemit blogging! XD
