RE: Sndbox Alpha is Coming Soon to Upvote Your Music + Art Posts for January! (Details Inside)
I was wondering how voting trails work and how people become apart of them. Thanks for the info on that. I'm in the process of signing up on @steemauto right now :)
I'm down with joining the @sndbox-alpha trail
Awesome thank you!! The trail is going to be great. We just finished organizing our first week of curation and now all we have to do is wait for monday to roll around so we can start selecting posts and upvoting :-)
Going through the process - there are a few thing that I'm a bit confused about (not sure if you can clarify). If you can I would appreciate it.
So by joining @steemauto I am giving them permission to vote and post for me. I get the vote part, but post? I do not fully understand why they would need to post for me. Also, they require access to my Steemit password which I am leery about. It seems like a huge risk to me, like at any point my account could be wiped out lol.
Are you a part of the curation trail or any others through steemauto and if so what is your experience with them?
Don't give them your password. You should only give them your active key, which while still bad if compromised, is not nearly as bad as the password. In the case of an active key leak you are still in no risk of losing your account.
The site will never post for you unless you use it to schedule posts - and that's why it asks for that function. There is a feature for post scheduling, but if you only log in (with active key) and follow the Sndbox-Alpha trail, all it will do is vote for the posts that we vote for on the trail.
I'm on Steemauto and I am following the Alpha trail, my experience with them has been nothing but positive so far :-)
Ok, I think I understand now, thanks for the clarification. I still have a lot to learn about Steemit.
