The Sights Of Second Life

INTERNATIONAL SPACEFLIGHT MUSEUM

One of my favourite sims in Second Life is the International Spaceflight Museum. As you can no doubt tell by its name, this is a sim dedicated to the various machines that have been built in order to get us into orbit and beyond.

All of the famous craft can be found here. There is, of course, the space shuttle, and the Saturn V rocket that took us to the moon. Not only have the content creators recreated the rocket itself but also the launch tower. You get a real sense of scale as you ascend up, up, up multiple flights of steps to reach the command module on top of the rocket.

As well as spaceflight’s most famous craft, the museum also displays lesser known vehicles. Each such craft is accompanied with lots of information about its history, making a visit to this sim educational as well as enjoyable.
