Villages of Spain: Guadalajara, Galve de Sorbe

Just a dozen kilometers separate the curious depopulated Villacadima from another town, Galve de Sorbe, which, judging by the two pillories he has and the castle that watches him like a silent hawk from the top of a nearby hill, must have certain relevance in the past.

It is still a fantastic vision, on the other hand, to observe the evolutions of cattle - mainly cattle - which, like herds of buffalo in the mesoamerican meadows, for example, roam in circles through the steppe moorland attached to the Sierra de Pela, whose herbs and stubble show a remarkable layer of ermine produced by the strong frosts of the night, even in autumn, far from the winter rigors that characterize the place.

As in many towns, located inside or outside the province, in Galve de Sorbe there is also an anthropological and cultural memory that, like the pieces of a giant historical puzzle, must be patiently collected from lintels, balconies or simply from the facades of their houses.

Most of these objects, although properly orthodox, respond, nevertheless, to an atavistic memory that reaches, to a greater or lesser extent, all the previous cults and civilizations. Just to give an example, it could be said that the monstrances or monoxi crosses in the lintels fulfill the same function, in short, that, for example, those hearths or gods of the home that were never lacking in Roman homes.

There is, however, a curious representation that, although not unknown within the field of Christian symbolism, does allow us to think about that solar character of Christianity, akin to other previous cults, which are known to be nourished.

I refer to that imposing solar disk that reigns in one of the houses near the Plaza Mayor, in whose center, and in Gothic letters - or similar - the anagram of Jesus is observed. I can not stop thinking now, as I thought about those moments in which my camera aimed towards the front of the aforementioned house, in the one attributed to Jesus by the Evangelists: I am the Light of this world.

It should be added an anecdotal detail: in the Plaza Mayor, in front of the Town Hall, there is a place that continues to look like it was before; that is, a bar. Now it is a private house.
