Facebook is not integrating with Steem... get over it.
As many of us would like Steem to succeed, deciding this is going to happen through an irrational event is not how I see the future of Steem.
The thing we have to remember is that many cryptocurrency fans are also delusional conspiracy theorists. In my own personal treks down the rabbit holes of delusional conspiracy theories, it was always interesting to see if at the end of the trail was something legitimate, or just the hyped up suspicions of over-active imaginations. Often, I would find both shocking truths and hyped fiction, such as with 9/11.
These mindsets have somehow begun a rumor that Facebook might just integrate with Steem's SMT's.
When you run one of the biggest companies in the world, the last thing you do is integrate your core strategy with a bunch of no-name online hackers who are the backbone of what ultimately determines what Steem is. I am speaking of the witnesses we vote. There are other reasons as well, such as confusing your brand by promoting another brand.
What I am saying here is that for Facebook as a company to even consider this, violates at least 10 principles of sound business management and would be such a dumb move for them, there is no way they would do it.
Large companies like this when it comes to their bread and butter technology, either:
- Buy-out the small company they want to integrate, so they have full control over the technology (impossible with Steem)
- They duplicate the technology to mirror what the competitor achieved, bringing the concept to their own marketplace, by inventing off of other people's innovation (copy-cat method)... this too, gives them full control over the technology in their space
So if you hear this rumor going around, just remember there are many people in the community with creative imaginations. It makes a fun story, but this story doesn't exist in reality. Just imagine, 20 people are given the keys to shut down a core component of Facebook's operation, without Facebook's consent? They'd never do it.
Keep on dreamin'
We mice know not of Facebook plans. However all corporates big and small know they must stay relevant. We doubt they would have not considered a SMT offshoot off their main platform, similarly we doubt they would not have considered their own cryptocurrency platform.
Who knows... perhaps they have started accumulating Steem in multiple accounts or are in talks with Steemit.com to buy 49% of their stake.
Our point is, having never heard this rumour to begin with, is never underestimate what your opponent might do.
Reckon they have bigger things to worry about now anyhow.
PS. The Steem blockchain is a perfect platform for selling user data. Everyone knows everything is open and everything is for sale. Facebook would know this too.
That's not gonna happen at any cost who's ever is dreaming that seems like they are in a parallel world right now hahah
you all follow @crypto-investor this is order of @shahabshah.
thats something wouldn't want to see. god no we don't want fascist book on steem.
Well why wouldn't Facebook want to integrate a pre-existing technology that works just fine. Instead of developing their own native blockchain they could funnel users and technology into their platform right now.
Facebook already have the users and can afford to create / copy the technology. I can't see them giving up a ton of control for relatively small gains.
Awww...
Poor turtle...
Thanks for the heads up @crypto-investor
I have NOT heard that theory about FB and SMT's.
Keep STEEM N ON,
Frank
Sometimes I wake up from a dream with a crazy idea. This seems like one that might have flashed through my sleeping brain.
