Smartphoto Contest: Week 5 – Landscapes & Photography: Nature and History!

Hi Dears!

Here is my entrance to the this week @smartphoto contest! For this week: Week 5 – Landscapes & Photography

The White Cliff, in Dover, Kent England is the place that faces France (the fine line at the horizont dividing the sea and the sky).
The Cliff is mostly composed of chalk reason for its white appearance. This is the point where Great Britain is closest to Europe, this is why Dover was used as port since the Roman era. You can see a lighthouse which dates from this era at the left side of the photo (well really you only can appreciate a white dot).
The Cliff is just at the narrowest part of the English Channel then this have been towards the history sensible to invations and important to guard the country, and also for travellers because crossing at Dover was the principal way to comunicate both worls.
