Kasbah Sidi al-Maqati in Tetouan

The Kasbah is located in the northwestern part of the city of Tetouan. The Kasbah was a place to observe all the external moves and commercial corridors from one of its towers. The Kasbah was built during the 15th century by the founder of the first city, Abu Hassan Ali al-Maqri.

Kasbah Sidi al-Maqtari has various social needs, including a house, a bathroom, a prayer and worship mosque and a foreign watchtower. Qasba Sayyid al-Maqari was the residence of the city's founder, Abu al-Hassan Ali al-Maqari, as it is the seat of government, power and military base to direct various military movements.

In the current period, the Kasbah Sidi al-Maqtari is a sixty-five-meter-long wall that rises seven meters high and is joined by three towers. The northern and southern sides of the wall are characterized by two square towers. There is also a multi-rib tower in the center of the fence. The towers are connected by a guard passageway that is accessed through a staircase next to the gate of the Kasbah.

Thanks to its ancient and ancient architecture, the Kasbah Sidi Toura attracts many visitors from around the world, especially those interested in the ancient history of Andalusia from Arab and foreign tourists as one of the most important tourist places in Tetouan.
