Beer and food?
For this week's #BeerSaturday I was going to do another beer and food pairing. It will only be partially successful as the food picture from one night seems to have disappeared from my phone. I will do what I can with the rest though.
The first beer is a Founders Brewing Porter. It is quite dark and smooth. I have tried another Founders beer before so I was optimistic about this one, and I was not disappointed. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
It was supposed to be paired with some coconut chicken tenders and a corn, feta, jalapeno salad. I had thought I took a picture, but I can't seem to find it. So, use your imagination.
The second beer is from Lolo Peak Brewery. It is a Fire Season Chili Ale. A pale ale with roasted poblano, jalapeno, and ancho chilies. It was tasty, and a bit spicy with a spicy pepper aftertaste.
This was paired with some 5 spice shrimp tacos. It contained cabbage, broccoli slaw, Hoisin sauce, shrimp done in a 5 spice blend, and and peanuts candied in the same 5 spice blend. It was excellent and matched quite well with the spicy beer.
The porter looks great on it's own, no need for food photos with it!! LOL. I love the tan head!! Nice
I had a founders last week too! They are so good!
