Apple iPhone X came with a distinct style. It came with an almost bezel-less border and the top camera’s notch accompanied by a hefty price tag. Those trying to get a new mid-class phone with similar design could get Oppo phones. Additionally, you could choose an option from three (3) models that are already available at the market, specifically the Oppo F7, Oppo R15, and Oppo R15 Plus.

Why Oppo?

Oppo is one of the top brands in China for its quality. Furthermore, those three (3) mentioned models have top quality features. Below are the features that you may get if you choose any of the three (3) models:

• (Almost) borderless bezels. They have a minimum of 82.5% screen to body ratio on a minimum 6.23 inches screen.
• Amoled screen for Oppo R15 and R15 Pro
• A minimum of 401 ppi density for a clear display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.
• The R15 & R15 Pro come with a hybrid dual SIM/microSD slot, while the F7 has a dual SIM feature with a dedicated slot for microSD.
• All three (3) of them come with a gyroscope, accelerometer, and proximity sensor for VR/AR/MR experience.

If you are using any of those three (3) for ordinary activities such as social media browsing or playing Youtube videos, choosing any of them would be sufficient and the price would be the only concern. Which means Oppo F7 would be the best choice for having the cheapest price tag. However, if you have a special need, below are some suggestion for you.

VR/AR/MR Fans & Gamers

If you are a Virtual/Augmented/Mixed Reality fan or a hardcore smartphone gamer, choosing the Oppo R15 Pro is a must. The Qualcomm SnapDragon 660 with its Adreno 512 might not be the best in the world currently, but they are sufficient for a mid-class smartphone. It also has the best performance among those three (3) models according to GSMArena’s review.

Selfie Lovers

Oppo F7 is being marketed as “the best selfie phone powered with AI”. Assuming all the photo related software are the same inside all three (3) models, Oppo F7 indeed has a better front-facing camera with 25MP, although the f/2.0 number is not really impressive. So, in theory, you will get a good, but not great, selfie photos. Of course, the Oppo F7 is the winner between the three (3) models.

(Professional) Photographers / Videographers

However, it would be a different case if you are expecting better photographs or videos, the Oppo R15 Pro is a must. Dual rear-facing cameras (16 MP, f/1.7, 1/2.6", 1.22µm + 20 MP, f/1.7, 1/2.8", 1µm) with better video resolution (2160p@30fps) will give you a satisfactory experience. The Oppo R15 comes second in performance while the Oppo F7 will come last in photo/video performance.
