THE BLOCKCHAIN ANSWER TO THE IMPOSITION ON US: OF ‘SMART CITIES’.

This post is to be the beginning of a serialised commentary upon the introduction of a certain inclusive and public engagement activity for people to use blockchain applications to take back control of their locality to be more focused about people in it. Discussing our current position in the light of huge changes and opportunities that are on the horizon, which enable ordinary people to begin to take self ownership of the things that affect their lives. It begins in a small way, just integrating systems and services in the locality to better operate for and by the community. Blockchain technology has the power to set us all free. For the first time in history both the means of production and the finance to do it can now be in the hands of the ordinary people and no longer controlled exclusively by a ruling, or elected power elite.

The series of posts is a journey looking through the urban landscape of technology that is planned to come to our cities, monitoring and interlinking all manner of sensor controls and service streamlining is being planned for us.

Are they all good? Some maybe, but there are alternatives that have not been given much notice until recently.

Situations that are coming soon are outlined in advance of events to come, for informing and being in readiness of these issues and alternatives are the aims for this book to inform and to enable the people in the city to be as smart, as the Smart city concepts that are planned for them. With some insight the citizen might become smarter, and certain alternatives given more thought as alternatives to what has been planned for us to dutifully accept.

These alternatives are based upon new technology applications which have arrived. This is the Blockchain based alternatives emerging whilst the hierarchy have been discussing their own plan loosely under the heading of ‘Smart Cities’.

SMARTER CITIES? NO WE NEED SMARTER CITIZENS.
