The smart bike that connect to your smartphone will go into production
The Cyclotron is packed with technology and promises to be the "bicycle of the future." This innovative project has doubled in just over a month the amount originally asked in crowfunding campaign and is ready to start.
Counting already with 94 stakeholders, the campaign that Cyclotron creators created in KickStarter in June takes time already over 100,000 raised euros, more than double the amount initially requested in view of the production of this bike smart and composed of numerous technological components .
With design and adjustable ergonomics for the use, the Cyclotron shows a futuristic look, no doubt, so that their creators present the vehicle as "the next big step in the evolution of the bicycle, after three years of intense development and testing." Both can be used by sports people, based on the use of so Sport, as also in a city and relaxed atmosphere. The spokes of the wheels without format allows up a shopping cart to be transported in this section of the Cyclotron, whose frame is constructed of carbon fiber.
But let us go to the "details" technology this Smart Bike, based on 15 registered patents, beginning with the Cyclo-App, a mobile application for iOS and Android that will support the movement of the bike and alert to any situation related activities - when the battery feeding the lights are near the end, for example. It is a lithium-ion battery that powers the entire intelligent lighting system: when it gets darker, the Automatic Light sensors try to adjust the bike lights, and the range of indices will recovering with each pedal stroke.
The app also syncs more than ten sensors Bluetooth present in the Cyclotron, keeping all operating information and use Cyclo-Log. And yet "follows" the right time to put the next speed, for example. The greatest innovation, however, is related to the electronic gearbox E-GEAR, which promises to switch between speed in just 0.2 seconds based on a system driven by a command that resembles a simple mouse click, say project creators.
On the other hand, you can have access to all data on the "back" bike we are holding with always available training programs, while the GPS Bike Finder system is to locate the position of the vehicle in case of lost or stolen, or simply when you are lost.
In case of emergency or accident, you can automatically send an alert to the authorities. These are technologies developed under the Smart Bike Platform, an open source platform for which anyone can contribute ideas and suggestions.
As for prices, there are several still available settings through crowdsourcing year concerned. The most expensive version of the Cyclotron - with the automatic gearbox E-GEAR highlighted, among other technological details - can be booked for 2,699 euros, and the final price at the time of the launch will be 2,999 euros. After the campaign, this summer begins the production phase, the official launch being scheduled for here exactly one year, in July 2017.
