back at the basecamp: as much as I like getting away for a bit I do love coming back to countryside.

Maybe it’s age, maybe it’s the overwhelm of a town or city but coming back home feels good, as much as I enjoy the wanderlust of the transition energy, the sights and sounds and the flow of food and beer I do like to be more gatherer than hunter, I know I’m not out of that survival band I’d been in for the last decade or more, I do feel thou every month, bit by bit changes are afoot

and that’s super important to note when you're trying for not just the now but the near future and beyond, the time when you're not here for instance. that’s certainly in my mind more and more to work towards something stable that I can put to one side and let it just tick and trickle away so that Ella has some money later on in life, I know the various cash injections I had when my dad helped me buy a house and such like really helped.

With little under 13 days until the end of the month, January as feeling busy, different, a sense of preparedness in some way maybe. I’m a little way to go before I can get the new green screen and I feel the energy under the surface of making my next big batch of courses and ideally some daily vlogs for dtube — I know the new green screen is gonna be a lot of fun but also allow for a range of different kinds of shoots as well and is ready for van life when that comes around.

The next big thing in the next few weeks is to see where my investments are, I’ve gotta pay some debts and get the car done while also building up the residuals.

I realise that dtube is going to be better for me anyway in the near time and the long run but it’s kinda a weird feeling when you’ve been connected to something for so long like having an account with a web service over a decade like that and to be told they are taking something away before you didn't get enough followers — it’s really sticking it to the small content producer, I don’t think it’s a very fair metric — viewer minutes sure, but followers? That’s a bit dumb if you ask me.
