while dayle is taking a sleep, I’m putting the slow cooker dinner on for six hours from now.
So dayle makes this fire Italian chicken soup on the odd occasion, we normally make a big pot of it (we bought an induction pot for christmas) and it’s lovely, it’s really warming and it really makes you feel so much better and full — dayle has a migraine right now so she’s in bed with a face mask on and meditation playing in her wireless headphones.
In the mean time I’m watching a live semi-final between astralis vs faZe CS:GO, I’m not really into the game but I can respect tactics and aiming skill - it’s kinda what got me into making the clanlife gsp back in the day, it was a cool thing to be part of, running your own 47u rack of 2u servers! :)
Anyway back to the slow cooker food goodness for the day, I’ve cut up some potatoes, carrots and broccoli and I’m just lightly softening them up so they are not raw, i want the food to be ready in about six hours so I don’t have the time to just overnight it so I’m getting it going.
For about fifteen minutes I boil them up and also drop in a veggie knorr stock pot (we are having chicken today so a chicken one might be better but I feel I can use the veggie ones with anything) and stir it for a short while while watching the live stream game — also I tend to put in rock salt, pepper and herbs at this stage.
After I’ve transferred the veggies to the slow cooker, I’m gonna drop that on low for the next two hours and then around five o’clock I’ll put it on fast for two hours to keep the heat in, keep it low for the first part so the meat can infuse all that lovely veggie infused goodness.
as I’ve made ‘too much’ today I’ve put liquid to one side in case I need to refill the slow cooker as the water just evaporates from the ‘slow boil’ of the slow cooker, I keep checking it and turning it over so that the meat is at the bottom and that everything gets even heating (plus it smells so good, I just have to get in there!)
Next up, using the existing pan I just put up my sliced up chicken in the pan with some lovely extra virgin olive oil and just warm the chicken so it’s lovely and soft, I’m not browning it or sealing it, just heating it through so it’s not raw and I know it’s cooked up ready for infusing with the water.
I realise the chicken looks a little sick but I think that’s just the light and the camera in here, like I said it’s not cooked through yet, I’m just gonna let the slow boil do the business and make that chicken super soft and tender to the bite so that it falls apart in your mouth, I’m already getting excite to put gravy in with this later on.
And we are pretty much done, super simple meal but super tasty and easy to make, I’ll post some pictures in the comments later on when I serve this up with some lovely gravy to boot! :) — the slow cooker is probably one of the best things you can get for an RV for a van, I wish their was a 12v version or something you could run of batteries and solars so you could go out all day capturing media and come home to a lovely bowl of food ;)

Looks very tasty !!! I did not hear about the induction pot. In general, it's great that there are intellectual assistants in the kitchen. I have such an assistant - a stove for bread baking. In the evening you can put flour, water, yeast, salt, sugar and lean oil, ask for a delayed start, and in the morning we will be with fresh
i never bought one because i'd need to be making bread daily for it to be worth while plus i'm trying to cut down on bread!
Is an induction pot the same as pressure pot?
no the cooker is induction, like a hot plate (for the pot is a certain metal to work) and the slow cooker is a normal type of bowl that is slow heated.
OK. Alright.
thanks @lifemovedbysteem your a love, i always know when your around. big love xx
