Secret Slothitaur
The secret slothitaur is a rare and mystical beast. It is likely related to the more common slothicorn but capturing a specimen to test this theory has proven to be impossible. Component parts for this beastie were sourced from pixabay and wiki commons. Original PhotoShop art by moi released into the wild freely and without reservations. Run wild, secret slothitaur, run wild.
Never heard about it. Amazing!
Secret Slothitaur has heard of you though, @monajam. Only good things :)
Haha! Cool! What a mighty slothitaur you have here! And so many great puns! LOL overload :)
Maybe there is a slothitaur in the shiny forest?
I've heard some rumours, you know... We've got slothicorn, but slothitaur's presence is sensed, but unconfirmed. If I'll manage to see one, I'll make sure to document how it looks and show it to you! :)
Photoshop skills on 100. But what if you come across such a thing when you are casually walking on the road. I'd just die!
Growing up in Alaska I have many times came upon a brown bear or a momma moose in the ditch by the side of the road. I would probably handle a slothitaur in similar fashion. First I always whistle or sing while walking so that I don't surprise anything that might be upwind of me. Second I usually have a dog with me but we will pretend I don't. I would stop moving and focus on calming my breathing while watching it. I would breathe away any fear until the creature moved on :)
A criminally underused tag, that!
This kind of makes me want to do a compilation post of all the Steemit tags of which I am the only representative entry. There are quite a few if I am not mistaken.
This is hilarious and I love it. Thank you for sharing this majestic creature.
blown glass slothitaur coming up anytime soon? LOL Hey dude do you know who Hamm is (local glass legend)? I have some pretty amazing blown glass monsters that I commissioned from him.
Ohh now that would be interesting! I'm not 100% sure I have the technical skill to accomplish that but I'll keep it in mind next time I'm in the studio.
I'm not sure I know who Hamm is, is his first name Jason by any chance? I know of a guy who does some pretty sweet monsters in Eugene.
Nah Hamm is the first name :) He founded Waterworks glass and has basically invented many of the most popular functional designs: http://www.waterworksglass.com/
Funny interview with him from back when he made what I believe is still the world's largest blown glass sculpture, a 12' tall rocking chair made entirely of blown glass:
I had quite a collection of Hamm pieces at one point but gave many away to friends. I still have held on to a few blown glass monsters though because they the kind of thing that deserves to be in a museum in a thousand years when people are curating the great works of art from the 21st century. I am serious. They are among the coolest things I have ever seen in my entire life. I will have to make a post showcasing a few I guess. :) Love - Carl
Hahaha, that interview is awesome and I have tons of respect for a technician that skilled. I'd love to see some of his monsters, I googled it but it mostly came up with pipes, so if you made a post about it I'd really appreciate it!
I really appreciate glass sculpture, and love to see it in museums, hopefully it continues to be more widely recognized as the art that is can be and not just a craft. The pacific northwest does a good job with that but I'm waiting for the days when you can go to the Met or the Art Institute at see some blown sculptural work!
Where might one get to see the magnificence of such a beast?
Hopefully running wild all over Steemland as we speak :)
It’s mightier than the jackelope! Wow. Where did you find this graceful beast?
It is really more like the secret slothitaur finds you. One second I was Steem-ing away, minding my own business, the next second - BAM. Secret Slothitaur.
Nice post. Thanks for sharing, I thought this animal eas s horse, but it looks strange. Well keep on posting. I follow and upvote you.
Yes, strange and beautiful :)
I saw one of these once, but as per usual, didn't have my camera with me at the time.
Don't kick yourself. It is impossible to capture a slothitaur on film and could easily have destroyed your camera in the attempt. All you can do is breathe in the majesty and try to stretch those precious seconds out so you can replay them in your mind later when the slothitaur has gone.
That's some weird shit right there
Coming from you I am going to read that as "that's some REALLY REALLY WEIRD SHIT" because I have a feeling you may have seen some weird shit in your day :) LOL
I wonder does the Slothitaur think we are some weird shit?
