Hi guys! Last night I was watching a lot of animes. Anime has always been my first love. Since I was a kid I always watch animes on Philippine T.v. In the morning, before I go to school, after school and before going to bed. And up until today. Dragon Ball Z has always been my favorite anime of all time. I remember when my older cousin taught me how to draw G7oku and ever since then I didn't stop drawing animes.

WHY GOKU?

San Goku is a super saiyan badass who's always there to save the world if an alien, robot, or any out of the species decided to destroy the world. His super saiyan powers keeps on evolving every season. It's like that he has no limits. No matter how strong the villain is. He always end up killing them all with his kameha and super energy ball. I remember when I was watching the fight scene of Goku and Cell. And then Goku requested to all people to raise their hands because he'll be needing all our energy to build his super energy ball to kill Cell. And I was there raising my hands, screaming, "Go Goku!!" Call me a geek but Goku will always be my all time favorite superhero.

WHY BLUE?

If you have not watch the new season Battle of Gods then you may get confuse why is he blue. In that season, Goku has acquired the power of the Super Saiyan God and blue symbolizes the limitless power of Goku!

DRAWING PROCEDURES

So I drew Goku last night on a brown folder because we are running out of art materials already. I used pencil colors to give life to my drawing but I never knew drawing and coloring using a 1 1/2 inch pencil could be that difficult. haha. I guess we have to buy another set of coloring materials.

First thing I did was sketch Goku on a 5×6 inch brown folder.

Then I traced the lines using a Uni-pin .2 and .7. And I erased the pencil marks. Be careful with using the eraser on this type of paper. Just do it very lightly because you can damage the texture of the paper and it will become harder for you to color your drawing like what happened here. Haha. Lesson learned!!! 😉

First layer of the color will be the shadows of his skin.

Second is the midtone.

Last layer is the highlights.

I did the same for his hair with the shade of blue. First layer is the darkest.

Then the midtone.

And the highlights.

Same rules apply on his clothes.

Just make sure that you'll be using the proper shade of color.

You can try to apply first the colors on a different paper to test the colors before applying it on your drawing.

And that is it. Just add additional details and it is done. Hope you like it.
