RE: I Slept on a Hardwood Floor For a Week (and You Should Try It Too)
I grew up sleeping on a floor (typical in Korea) but made a transition to a mattress at one point of my life. I cannot sleep on a hardwood floor it anymore. It hurts so badly! It is supposedly really good for your spine but it is fun & comfy to sleep on my sides on a mattress... haha. Kudos to YOU @heymattsokol.
In Korea do people of all ages sleep on the floor? Or only children?
All ages! We have a heated floor system - traditional architecture element called Ondol. This is also a reason why we used to sit on the floor too but it seems like sofa culture is more common these days in Korea too.
It gets more difficult to sleep on the hardwood floor during winter time - cold floor get your muscle contracted. Putting a heating mat underneath your futon or blanket will actually help you a lot. :D
Wow this is fascinating I had no idea
