JUST CAN'T GET TO SLEEP? TRY THESE HELPFUL TIPS!
Hi friends
Have you ever had those nights where you just can't get to sleep? You're staring at the ceiling, tossing and turning, watching the clock every hour? We all have. Well, help is here. After reading this, you'll be able to fall asleep within one or two minutes, whenever you want to. All you need is to remember these simple tricks....
The first trick is to eat some honey. Yes it's true! Most of us make our way to the kitchen when we can't sleep, thinking that a quick sandwich or a glass of milk will do the trick. This is fine but as a small change, replace the ham and cheese on your sandwich with a teaspoon of honey. Or drop it into your glass of milk. Not only will it help you fall asleep but it will also restore your body tissues overnight by making your sleep deeper and calmer. However, you need proper honey, not the honey with added sugar from the supermarket.
The second way is if you can't immediately find a comfortable position to fall asleep in then remember this tip. Place a small pillow under your knees. Your back will be in a more natural position and the tension in your lower back will decrease significantly. Your muscles will finally relax and while you may not find this position very comfortable at first but before you can think too much about it, you'll have fallen asleep. If you prefer to sleep on your side, the pillow can go between your knees. This position will also relieve the strain on your spine.
Another way can be practiced anywhere, when you need to get some rest. Place the tip of your tongue on the roof of your mouth, directly above your teeth, and press it to your front upper teeth. Hold your tongue in this position during the entire exercise. Completely exhale all the air from your lungs through your mouth, so that the exhalation is fairly loud and whistling. Now calmly inhale through your nose, counting to four. Then hold your breath and count to seven before fully exhaling slowly, counting to eight. Repeat the 4.7.8 cycle four times. The most important thing is that all the inhalations have to be calm and quiet through your nose and all the exhalations have to be loud and whistling through your mouth. This exercise is practiced by Yogi's during their meditations for complete relaxation of the body. This will also show you how to quickly reduce stress and tension in your body.
How about three magic points that will help you not only to fall asleep fast, but also relieve stress in any nervous situation for example, during an exam or before a date. The first point is between your eyebrows. It should be pressed with your thumb for 20 seconds, then released for a moment before being pressed again for another 20 seconds. To feel the full calming effect three 20-second presses should be enough. The second point is located in the area between the wrist and the palm, along the line of the little finger. Press this point with the thumb of your other hand and hold for one full minute. The third point is often called the most powerful acupuncture point and is centred at a distance equal to three finger widths, the index, middle and ring fingers below your wrist. One minute of pressure is enough to achieve a full relaxation.
This one is a cute and creative way to fall asleep fast. Sing yourself a song about a dream, about how you like to sleep, and how cool it is. By the end of the song you will fall asleep.
For a simple, but effective way use a sleep mask. In the complete darkness, you can add silence with the help of earplugs and you'll succumb to a deep and relaxing sleep.
Even when you lie comfortably in bed, it's not hard to notice that some of your muscles may still be tense. However, falling asleep fast is directly related to all your muscles relaxing in the body. So, there is one remarkable exercise that is also used in yoga practices, but you can use the express version comfortably on your back. Start relaxing from the tips of your toes to the nape of your neck going through all the areas of your body one by one. You can also do this in reverse. Gradually feel your entire body relaxing. Pay attention to all your muscles and a sound sleep will soon come.
Night, night!
