It’s should be noted that the demand for streaming industry has been hit with dwindling revenues and practically zero profit. An average streaming services lose about $1.5billion every year. Content creators also on these platforms are usually not compensated fairly. This requires a functional solution which will benefit all actors in the digital content distribution and monetization ecosystem.

It should also be noted that for a long time now, application developers and content creators factually gain little or nothing from creating content and developing application for users and in the case where they does it’s close to been nothing having anything. Application developers and content creators uses the ad model as a means of monetizing their content. Users are given free access to content in exchange for viewing ads. These ads are interruptive in nature and impact negatively on overall user experience. Despite the poor experience users are still limited to how much they can access in an ad model scenario.

They (application developers and content creators) also uses the subscription model to monetize their content by charging users fee on a pay as you use or monthly basis. However, the expectations of this generation has changed, users now want things for free and any option that comes as such will be preferred by the user. Thus the subscription model is not bringing in the required revenue to make the provider profitable
