If we look back in American history, we would see bodies and souls both in chains and shackles. We would see darker blood being used, abused and tormented. The modern day slavery in America was real and The seeds of slavery were planted in American soil back in 1691 and nightmares followed with physical abuses, mental torture and every other painful exploitation possible. Today everything has evolved, so has the slavery. Abolished in 1865, slavery has taken the name of modern day slavery and several other forms in United States of America. Modern day slavery and its forms have taken over the lives of humans and is being practiced globally because of the tremendous profit.

Modern day slavery has taken many forms i.e. Bondage labor, child labor, domestic servitude, forced marriage, sex trafficking and human trafficking. Among these, human trafficking and forced labor are prevalent in America. Because if its expanded network and practice throughout the whole country, modern day slavery gets unnoticed. Imagine a child running through the streets selling things or working in a farm and a lady working in a barber shop. Can they be victims of modern day slavery? It’s likely to be that their freedoms are being exploited and being threatened to work. In United States of America, the trafficked humans are either forced into labor or thrown into prostitution. Victims can be anyone of any age, religion, color and gender. As long as they are benefiting the traffickers, their bodies are brutally exploited.

These numbers are higher than those during trans-Atlantic slave trade. It’s time to put a stop to human trafficking.
