Slate is a blockchain-based entertainment platform with a robust utility protocol that runs on a superb cryptographically and multilayered network. It is a reliable decentralized system launched on the 28 of April 2018 and is expected to deliver high-speed, low-cost, and high definition video globally, as well as facilitating live event ticketing on the blockchain.

The main goal of Slate is to provide “unrestricted global entertainment access” by using the blockchain technology powered by a cryptographically secure network. Slate is an entertainment utility protocol which will launch its own cryptocurrency soon.

Binge, a platform from Slate, aims to be the decentralized version of Netflix. They'll provide the power of blockchain video on demand (BVOD). By owning slate tokens, consumers will have access to the Binge platform and have the ability to purchase pay-for-view entertainment.

When content is bought from creators by a fixed price, similar to Netflix, Binge will offer additional revenue to creators based on views and other metrics recorded on the blockchain. The information is completely open to creators. This concept will allow creators to make better content and for Binge to incentivise creators to sell their content to the platform.

Cheaper Service

As discussed before, bandwidth is payed for by Netflix when consumers decide to watch videos. By using decntralized Masternodes and Geo Incentive Schemes to make up the SlateChain Network, costs are significantly decreased. Masternode Operators will receive Proof of Service and Staking rewards because they'll be the primary distributor of content from creators."Are you still watching" notifications can be removed due to more efficient means of content distribution.

Global Adoption

Although Netflix is available in many countries, it took years and unnecessary difficulties to do so. However, even China banned Netflix until recently including it in another popular provider called "iQiyi". Binge will be globally based and is expected to be adopted throughout the world without restrictions.

Reduction in Piracy

Kids learn about the dangers of piracy in school. Despite their efforts, piracy causes huge amounts of revenue to be lost in the industry. Through blockchain technology, an asset, idea, or creative work is recorded and an indisputable record is created. Poor practices and piracy can be reduced because of this technology. More revenue can be restored to the industry for creators and consumers.
