The above photo was taken during our one-day trip to Shifen. This photo describes 6 people which includes my university friends and I. There are three Malaysians and three Taiwanese in this photo, are you able to distinguish them? The correct answer is: the two girls standing at the very front, which is Olivia and I, and the boy with glasses in red checkers, standing at the very back on the right, are Malaysians, and the remaining three guys are Taiwanese. Did you make the right guess?

This photo was taken on the 29th of February, which is during the winter vacation. As you might have noticed, some of them were wearing masks as it was during the COVID-19 pandemic. We decided to go to Shifen to experience their sky lanterns because we do not have them in Malaysia. Sky lanterns are used to make wishes by writing your wishes on the walls of the lantern, then releasing it to the sky.

That was my very first experience of sky lanterns and it was not really good. Although all of us looked happy in the photo, it was not really that joyful in reality. This is because it was raining quite heavily that day and we almost lose the chance to fly our sky lantern. Thankfully, the rain only started to pour after we finished taking photos and released our lantern. I would definitely visit Shifen and experience it again on a perfect weather day.
