The same way you infuse fruits or herbs in water, you can also infuse in oils as well.

You can either use heat infusion or cold infusion method.

The heat infusion method requires heating the oil with the herb in it on very low heat for 3- 8 hours while the cold infusion method involves leaving in a dark place for 4- 8 weeks.

I prefer the cold infusion method because I get to retain all the properties of my herbs.

I did this calendula infusion on the 3rd of May, 2018 which makes it 14 weeks strong.

Calendula oil has antifungal, anti-inflammatory, and antibacterial properties.

This makes it useful in wound healing, soothing eczema, and relieving diaper rash. It’s also used as an antiseptic.

Ingredients

Sunflower oil
Calendula powder.

Please explain more about the cold infusion method.

The cold infusion method of oils has to do with infusing herbs in oils with the oil covering the herbs completely in a mason jar. You leave in a dark place and shake daily for 4- 8 weeks before sieving out the herb. At this time, the properties of the herb would have been transfered into the oil.
